The last big day of the Summer School 2010 started with the last training in the small groups. Then it was time for the official Summer School 2010 group photo! Everybody queued up in front of beautiful Sacre Coeur to show a big smile.
This was the last reason to smile before lunch; Tomasz Mendrek was back with another 30min intensive physical session. This meant shaking muscles, red heads, a lot of sweat and no excuse not to give all that was left over after a full week of Badminton and other activities!
The afternoon was then easy with a fun doubles-tournament for all players together as well as one for the staff and coaches. Everybody enjoyed another afternoon together with hard fights and a lot of sweat. As it was a fun tournament the doubles constellation changed every round – it was the last chance to play with some of the players that have never played or trained together before.
See the final ranking here: players and coaches.
In the evening, it was then party time! After the price giving –ceremony of the many winners of the different tournaments and competitions and a warm thank you to the local organizers as well as honouring the great help of everybody being involved in the preparation and running of the Summer School 2010, the dance floor was opened to all. All participants enjoyed their last evening together with dancing and chatting before everybody left the next day to their several home countries.
Some impressions of the different participants:
Then it was the last day of BE Summer School in Pressbaum 2010. Some of the coaches were up planning until very late last night, so they where a bit tired. The players were also a bit tired after a long week. So there was a special atmosphere in the beautiful old facility of Sacre Coeur.
There was also a special tension between the players because of the big farewell party: it was the last chance to make an impression on the other gender.
But first the coaches had their last session in the small groups with their players. In my group the training was very good, and the players gave good feedback afterwards. They told that they learnt a lot, and they were very happy about the coaches.
After lunch we had the big double tournament. We had to pick our partners randomly, so it was fun and great way to do it.
Then in the evening the big party was there. First we had some speeches from different people of the organizations behind the camp and the winner of Summer School men’s single tournament Ivan Rusev (Bulgaria). Then the party could begin. I will not go in to details- but it seemed like the players had fun….
Thank you everyone for a fantastic week in Pressbaum.
