Because of the COVID-19 situation the 2020 RSL BEC Summer School has been cancelled, but the Slovenian host is ready to welcome the players and coaches in 2021.

Every summer in the past 37 years young badminton players and ambitious coaches have had the opportunity to play badminton and gain experience during their summer holiday. Unfortunately, this will not be the case in July 2020: Badminton Europe has been forced to cancel the event.

The 2020 RSL BEC Summer School is cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation across Europe, which also means that the BWF Coach Education Level 2, which is a part of the RSL BEC Summer School, is postponed until further noticed.

- We are sad that we have to cancel the RSL BEC Summer School this year. It is one of the longest running activities in our organisation, but we need to think about the health of the players, coaches and staff, and to cancel is the only right decision, General Secretary of Badminton Europe, Brian Agerbak said.

Slovenia 2021

In 2015 Podcetrtek, Slovenia hosted the RSL BEC Summer School for the first time, and Badminton Europe is happy to announce that the 2021 edition of the Summer School will take place in Slovenia despite of the 2020 cancellation.

- I am happy that the Slovenian organiser is ready to host in 2021. We know that the facilities are perfect for the setup we have for our Summer School, and I am already looking forward to seeing a lot of happy players and coaches travel to Slovenia in a year from now, Agerbak said.

The 2021 RSL BEC Summer School will take place in July. The dates will be confirmed in due time.
