The host cities of the Summer School

With the rapid growth of young people playing badminton in Europe, the European Badminton Union saw the need to assist the advancement of playing standards within their area by introducing a residential summer coaching school for junior players and junior coaches.

The first European Coaching School was held in 1982 and has since become an annual event with an excellent track record of success. Moving as it does annually to different countries adds to the media appeal.

From 2013 the BWF Coach Education programme is part of the BEC Summer School.
