Equipment Support

2010 Equipment Donation

Badminton Europe has committed to donate equipment to 27 of its Member Associations as part of its Development Programme in 2010. Member Associations have been identified on the basis of a development analysis and have been given a choice of equipment packages to select from.

In 2009, Badminton Europe carried out a detailed analysis of all 51 Member Associations. This is part of the Development Strategic Plan.

All 51 Member Associations were measured and analysed against 18 criteria. These covered topics such as; participation and results in tournaments, organisation of international tournaments to number of fulltime coaches and staff in the office. The results of the analysis enabled us to allocate all Member Associations into one of five groups based on their level of development.

This means that Badminton Europe can focus resources and tailor programmes in a more specific method according to the results of the analysis. To read the Development Strategic Plan and to review the results of the analysis please visit the main page.

This analysis is the basis for this year’s equipment distribution as well as other development programmes. Only Member Associations listed in Group 5a and Group 5b of the analysis will receive equipment in 2010 as part of the donation.
