Coach Education
Description: currently, ad hoc coaching courses exist alongside major Badminton Europe events and other development activities such as Regional Projects. A major foundation of the current Coach Education is the European Badminton Summer School, where every year around 30 coaches are receiving a one week intensive theoretical and practical coach education conducted by the Summer School staff coaches.
Who is it for?: the Badminton Europe Coach Education system is going to be refreshed during 2009. The new offering will ensure that courses and material are available for various levels, from junior national coaches attending a course in their own country, through to the elite level education offered in collaboration with Kenneth Larsen’s international badminton school in Aalborg, Denmark.
Objectives: the current objectives are being redefined and will be published here in the near future.
Activities: Badminton Europe has produced three levels of coach education material and encourages Member Associations to apply to have a coach education course in their own country. Every year at the European Badminton Summer School a one week coach education course takes place. At the highest level Badminton Europe now approves international applicants for the elite coach education at the international badminton school in Aalborg.
Badminton Europe held a European Coaching Conference in Medvode, Slovenia from 12 – 13 November 2009.
