Summer School

Description:   a combination of a training camp for talented junior players and a coach education course open to all European nations.

Who is it for?  
under 17 national players and national (junior) coaches
 

Objectives: 

·          To enhance international relations between U17 upcoming European talents
·          To provide new ideas and insight to coaches of national junior teams
·          To provide a forum for networking between upcoming international coaches
·          To provide new ideas and insights to upcoming international players
·          To enhance the participation of players and coaches of the developing nations in Europe and in activities of Badminton Europe
 

Activities:

the complete training programme is managed by 8-10 staff of experienced European Coaches including preferably at least some national junior coaches with a proven track record. The participating coaches are assisting the staff with the training of the talented youngsters and at the same time experience a coaching course led by the staff. The Summer School aims to provide social interaction amongst participants as well as hard work and learning on the badminton court for the players, the coaches and the staff. Players and Coaches come from all over Europe to attend the Summer School.

Summer School 2010 

Sacre Coeur in Pressbaum, location of the 2010 BE Summer School

This year will be the 29th edition of the European Badminton Summer School and it will take place in Pressbaum, Austria from 17 – 24 July 2010.

Pressbaum is situated to the west of Vienna. The facilities at the Sacre Coeur venue in Pressbaum are in a secluded environment that will be a perfect location for a badminton training camp. 

Pressbaum hosted the very first Summer School in 1982. In 2010, the badminton club in Pressbaum (ASV Pressbaum) will be celebrating 50 years of badminton in their town. The European Badminton Summer School will be a major part of the celebrations.

Badminton Europe expects there to be more many players and coaches attending the Summer School this year coming from all over the continent.
