Technical Official Education
Description: to ensure and maintain the very highest standard of European technical officials. This is achieved by offering a quality education system for technical officials and by ensuring that a sufficient number of newly qualified European technical officials are available to meet the minimum demand per year.
Who is it for?: technical officials who have the aspiration and potential to progress from a national level technical official to become a Badminton Europe referee or umpire.
Objectives:
· Appoint 3 new Badminton Europe Accredited Referees
· Appoint 1 new Badminton Europe Certificated Referee
· Appoint 6 new Badminton Europe Accredited Umpires
· Appoint 4 new Badminton Europe Certificated Umpires
· Minimum 16 participants at International Umpire Course (if organised)
· Minimum 10 participants at International Referee Course (if organised)
Activities: the following activities are scheduled for 2009;
REFEREE ASSESSMENT
Assessment to be Badminton Europe Certificated Referee -
David Mullan (Ireland) will be assessed at the European Mixed Team Championships in Liverpool, England in February 2009.
Assessment to be Badminton Europe Accredited Referee -
Jochen Heumos (Germany) will be assessed at the European Junior Championships in Milan, Italy in April 2009.
Elaine Senior (England) will be assessed at the European Under 17 Championships in Medvode, Slovenia in November 2009.
REFEREE EDUCATION COURSES
There will be no Badminton Europe referee education courses taking place in 2009. The next course will take place in 2010.

FUTURE UMPIRE EDUCATION COURSES
The location of two more umpire courses will be confirmed before Summer 2009. These courses will take place at a European Circuit tournament between October – December 2009.
