Regional Project activity in Serbia
26 August 2009
Badminton Europe recently supported a Regional Project activity in Serbia that featured players from Hungary, Serbia and Romania. This training camp was for U 17 players preparing for the U17 European Championships which takes place in Slovenia this November.
Badminton Europe’s Council Member Corina Dan was coach at the project in Kragujevac.
The intensive training sessions focussed on technique and tactics especially in regard of the U17 European Championships. The training hall with 6 courts was in walking distance of the accommodation. As well as very good training there were plenty of possibilities for activities after the training. One big interest was the World Championships in India. The camp ended with a successful singles and doubles tournament.
The different activities on and off court built up a very good relationship between the players and coaches.
Television coverage of the training camp was featured by 3 local TV channels in Serbian.
