COMEBA training camp in Spain - “VALLADOLID 2010”

16 September 2010

In Spain the forth camp of COMEBA in 2010 was held from 22 – 29 August. With Badminton Europe’s support of the ‘Regional Project 2010’ - funding Daniel Travers from Scotland hold and supported the camp as a coach.

Report by Daniel Travers (expert coach, Scotland):

There were 82 peopleenrolled on the 4 courses.

Each course had a head coach with the assistant coaces changing on a regular basis.

9 Top Coaches were involved in the daily training with Victor Yuste taking care of all of the organisation. The camp was excellently organised throughout the week and the CD that Victor produced on the last day was excellent.

I was in the hall for at least 6 hours every day, taking two full sessions and assisting in all others I was present at.

The quality of coaching was very good indeed and in fact surprised me as to how good it was! There is still some need for further coach education which I am sure Anders will address in the future but I have to say once again, the coaching available to these players was way in advance of a level where many of them will ever play.

I enjoyed the course and I am positive that all attendees did also.

I would like to thanks Victor and all the coaches for making me feel welcome throughout my stay.
