U-17/U-19: 13 athletes

Organisation:

Camp took place in Sidirokastro approximately 600 km north of Athens near the Bulgarian border, here we had the use of a 6 court hall. This town is the stronghold of Greek Badminton. The 5 other coaches from among others from Serres and Thessaloniki participated very well and was fun and very good to work with, this through all training sessions. These sessions took place from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 21:30.

As mentioned above, almost every session 5 coaches assisted me and participated in the on and off court training sessions. These coaches were very willingly to learn and absorbed with great enthusiasm the offered opportunity to coach.

Course contents:

Prior to course begin me and Alexandros Kantzoglou from Serres, contacted each other by mail about the course contents.

For the U-13/U-15 group we came to the understanding to work on more singles related technical and tactical situations, also using cognitive ability to deal with match related circumstances.

For the U-17/ U-19 athletes, we issued partly MD and WD and the last one or two days XD related training. Combined with individual physical elements from high intensity training and concluded with a tournament using this to access the development process of this week.

A particular emphasis of training was to introduce for them new ways of training combining with a more and more physical method.

Finally, a special thanks to all participating coaches.
