2012 Equipment Donation
For 2012, Badminton Europe is currently analysing the equipment that would best meet the needs of the Member Associations. Information about what would be available will be sent out to the Member Associations during the first quarter of 2012.
Previous Equipment Donation
In 2011 Badminton Europe has committed to donate equipment to 24 of its Member Associations as part of its Development Programme. Member Associations had been identified on the basis of a development analysis and had been given a choice of equipment packages to select from.
In 2009, Badminton Europe carried out a detailed analysis of all 51 Member Associations; this is part of the Development Strategic Plan.
All 51 Member Associations were measured and analysed against 18 criteria. These covered topics such as participation and results in tournaments, organisation of international tournaments to number of fulltime coaches and staff in the office. The results of the analysis made possible to allocate all Member Associations into one of five groups based on their level of development.
This means that Badminton Europe can focus resources and tailor programmes in a more specific method according to the results of the analysis. For a list of the Member Associations groups, click here.
This analysis was the basis for 2011 equipment distribution as well as other development programmes. Only Member Associations listed in Group 5a and Group 5b of the analysis received equipment in 2011 as part of the donation.
