Regional camp in Visaginas, Lithuania

On July 1st, 12 junior players from Lithuania and Estonia started a 10-day training camp in the small, but very beautiful Lithuanian town Visaginas. The camp was a result of Lithuanian Badminton Federation’s Regional Project funded by Badminton Europe.

Those ten days worked very well. Players received helpful instructions from an experienced team of coaches. The participants had more than five hours a day of intense training. Also, they had a chance to have sparring matches with Russian players who were present in Visaginas at the same time (not part of the regional project). As a result, players demonstrated a great improvement in their skills and were able to use the learned technical and tactical elements in their game. As a conclusion, the camp was a success and helped not only strengthen the relationships between the countries, but also take the players' game to a higher level.

“I had a blast“, says Tautvydas, one of the camps' participant. “I mean don’t get me wrong, it was intense and some mornings I had troubles getting out of bed – that’s how much my muscles ached, but in the end, I feel like I achieved something. Now I feel faster, stronger… well, just better. Not only that, I believe that I made some great friends!”
