First training and BEC Women in Badminton Conference

 

 
The players started with their first training at 9:30 today. At the same time, the coaches head off with the first lesson of the BWF Coach Level 1 course. 


The staff coachesmain job in the morning session was to observe the players and on the basis of their skill form the groups with up to 6 players, who will than train together during the week. The rotation between the groups will be made accordingly, in order to make sure, that all the players get a good and high quality training with all the staff coaches, as well as with each other. The same groups will start working with the coach education participants on Tuesday, spending up to 2 hours per day with the coaches taking part in the BWF Level 1 course.


After the lunch, all the participants attended the first BEC Women in Badminton Coaching Conference. The speakers included former international player Judith Meulendijks, Coach Thomas Engholm from Denmark and Steve Gunn, the head of Great Britain’s Rowing Team. They presented their thoughts on how within European Badminton we can help positively improve the position of Women in Badminton.
