Getting started - Staff coaches meeting and the arrival of the participants

The 32nd edition of the Badminton Europe Summer School is currently taking place in the Danish town of Vejen. The small town with its 10.000 inhabitants is situated in the Danish region of Syddanmark (Southern Denmark).

51 players, 19 coaches and 10 Staff coaches are practising together at Badminton Europe’s flagship development project. 24 different nations are represented. All participants are practising and staying at the Vejen Idrætscenter, which offers perfect conditions for hosting such a big activity.

The Summer School is an intensive training camp for junior badminton players, as well as coaches from Europe. The players train together at least two times per day and also experience a variety of outdoor activities. The coaches are participating in BWF Level 1 Coach Education course. They spend a lot of time in the classroom, as well as on court, where they work with staff coaches and players.

On the day 1, the working day started for the staff coaches, as they were the whole day in the meeting, discussing mostly the planning and coordinating the tasks for the coming week.

The players and coaches arrived later in the day. All the participants of the 2013 BEC Summer School than met in the evening for an opening meeting of this years summer school.

The training for the players, and coach education will both start Sunday morning, followed by the Women in Badminton Coaching conference.
