2013 BEC Summer School in Vejen, Denmark
The 2013 BEC Summer School was held in Vejen, in period 13 - 20 July 2013.
The 2013 addition in Vejen attended 51 players, 19 coaches, and 8 staff coaches from 24 European countries. The project was organized by Badminton Europe, with a great help of the local organizers - Vejen Badminton Club and Vejen Idrætscenter.
The Badminton Europe's staff in charge of the organization of the 2013 Summer School edition were Jeroen van Dijk (BEC Development Manager), Spela Silvester (BEC Development and Events Assistant) and Manuel Roesler (BEC Communication Manager). The acting president of Badminton Europe, Joao Matos, to spend some time with the participants and the local organizers.
The 7 days in Vejen were filled with training sessions and social events. The hotel and the hall were full of laugh and sweat. The players concluded their 1 week hard training program with the Friday's tournament. At the same time, the BEC, for the first time in the long history of the Summer School project, organized the BWF Level 1 Coach course as a part of the BEC Summer School. The coaches were working hard through the week - in the classroom as well as on the court. They concluded their one week education with the final exam on the Friday, 19 July 2013.
